Q: What is BLINDDATER? Why is it different from other dating sites?
A: BLINDDATER is a completely new entertainment concept for single people who want to meet, chat and have a fun and exciting time on the web. The web site is a mixture of an amusement park, community site and dating site. You will be able to participate in a number of unique events and rides on the site, just like at an amusement park. You will also have the chance to meet and chat with other visitors on the site, or just check out your list of suitable dates. Q: I registered but when I try to log in it says that the account has not been activated. What should I do?
A: When registering for blinddater, we need to verify your email address. This is one of your unique IDs. In order to send you messages, you need to provide us with your correct email address. After registering, you will receive an "activation letter" sent to the email address that you have given us. If the email address is not correct, you won't be able to activate your account.

Q: I registered but I never received the activation letter. What should I do to get in?
A: The answer to this question is that you probably did not give us your correct email address when you registered. This means that you will not receive the activation letter. The activation letter verifies that you are the person who has this email address.

Q: I received the activation letter but I can't click on the link.
A: The activation letter is sent in a HTML format so some people cannot view this format in their email account. In this case you need to cut out the line in which we have said "cut" and paste this information into your browser's address line.

Our Quality Assurance team reviews each and every profile to provide our members with a comfortable environment, also ensuring them the best possible chances of making quality matches. We reserve the right to revise our guidelines from time to time, so please check back for updates.

We may reject profiles if the username, headline, or narrative text contains any of the following:

  • Any direct contact information (i.e., email addresses, URLs, ICQ/instant messenger IDs, phone numbers, full names, addresses)

  • Any location or descriptive information that threatens a member's anonymity

PICTURES

Picture policy!

The descriptions of inappropriate profile pictures are listed below. If you don't follow this policy, your profile picture will be removed. In your image archive you are free to post pictures like the kind mentioned below, with the exception of pornographic pictures. However, if we see pictures that do not agree with our standards we will remove them without asking.

  • Animated
  • Children
  • Advertising or commercial messages
  • Pornographic or in some other way offensive
  • Inappropriate for other reasons

We can also remove pictures!

If the picture is:

  • Unsharp
  • Corrupted or not visible for other reasons
  • More than one person in the picture (the profile picture)

Q: Can you explain how to upload my picture for my profile?
A:

Your digital picture must not be larger than 200 x 200 pixels, for best result we recommend the picture width to be 150 pixels and the height 190 pixels. This means that when it is 100% full-scale on the screen it should be the size of a passport photo. Then save the picture in a JPEG-format.

The picture file size cannot exceed 200 kb.

When your picture is done, log in to Blinddater and go directly to "My Page", then click on the "Browse" button and a small window will appear (which shows the files in your computer). Now you have to find the place where you saved your image. Once you find it, just click on it and choose open. The name of the file now appears in the small window beside "Browse."

After uploading your picture it will take a while before it appears to other members, because all uploaded pictures need approval from Blinddater.

Q: I cannot chat or get my friend's list to work.
A:

Detta gör du genom att:

När du registrerat dig för en Livedate kommer listan att överst visa de personer som vill gå ut i samma land/stad som de du angett i din Livedater-registrering.

A block function allows you to block a member from viewing your profile or sending you mails. To activate the block function, go into the member's profile that you want to block. In the top right corner of the profile is "block" function. Press that and the member is blocked. If you are blocking the member for a serious reason (harassment/bad language), we would like to know about it, so please send us an email at support@blinddater.co.uk and tell us the username of this member. This allows us to send this person a warning. You retain your anonymity.

Some basic rules!

For everybody's safety, we have a couple of basic rules that we ask you to follow. If you don't, you are at risk of terminating your profile.

  • You have no right to use the Blinddater.co.uk or Blinddater's name for your own or your company's personal winning. If you do, we will take immediate action against this.

  • You may not use blinddater.co.uk as a distribution channel or contact base for commercial, racial or other kind of non-accepted information.

  • All attempts to hack into the blinddater.co.uk site will be reported to the police.

  • Sexual harassments on blinddater.co.uk are not allowed.

  • Your password is your key to the site and your privacy. You are responsible for safekeeping your password.

  • If we suspect that you have not given your correct user information or that you using a false identity, you will be terminated from the site.

Sometimes, due to high traffic on the site, the communication bar at the bottom is overloaded from all the emails and flirting with the eye on the site. We are working on getting this in balance so that the servers can deal with these overloads and send out more flirts!

Q: What is the difference between HTML and plain text?
A:

Email sent in HTML (hypertext markup language) appears in much the same way you're viewing this web page. We're able to format the message we send you, adding graphics and links to other pages that you might find useful. HTML emails are ultimately designed with you, the reader, in mind and communicate their message much more effectively than emails sent as plain text. Email sent as plain text can be effective too; however, you won't see the formatting (bold, italics, etc.) that makes HTML easier to read. You still can receive links to useful information but lose the ability to view graphics. Key benefits of plain text emails are their smaller file size and your ability to read them offline.

Q: I cannot activate my account, please help me out.
A:

After going through the registration process, you should receive an activation letter in your email account (this is one reason why it is important for you to sign up with your REAL email address). In this letter you will find a RED sign (link) that you can click on to activate. The activation letter is sent out in HTML format (which some email programs cannot read). If you have this problem, there is a link which you need to "cut and paste" into your browser's address line. If you do not know how to do this, perhaps you can ask a friend with some computer experience. Or you can contact us on support@blinddater.co.uk.
